Indoor scene with chairs around a table

The scene originally comes from PBRT, see scenes for pbrt-v3:

You can download the scene (containg the one and only texture being used for the tiles on the floor, a Blender file, and an appleseed scene with all OBJs):

$ tar cfv breakfast_appleseed.tar appleseed textures/seamless_marble_tiles.jpg blend/breakfast_appleseed.blend

$ gzip breakfast_appleseed.tar

Just use gunzip breakfast_appleseed.tar.gz and tar xfv breakfast_appleseed.tar (or tar xfvz breakfast_appleseed.tar.gz if you prefer to do it in one go) to unzip the archive.

An alternative lighting of the scene looks like this (rendered by Cycles):

Very cool man! have you tried increasing sun size to match the cycles sun soft shadows?

Thanks, @juancarlosgzrz, actually I tried to use what Blender calls a Sun light first and link it to the Hosek-Wilkie sky model, but finally decided to just use what Blender calls a Hemi light, which results in a directional light for appleseed (see render.appleseed file):

...
            <light name="Sun" model="directional_light">
                <parameter name="cast_indirect_light" value="true" />
                <parameter name="exposure" value="0.0" />
                <parameter name="importance_multiplier" value="1.0" />
                <parameter name="irradiance" value="Sun_radiance" />
                <parameter name="irradiance_multiplier" value="8.0" />
                <transform>
                    <matrix>

                    </matrix>
                </transform>
            </light>
...

That light does not support a sun size parameter. Feel free to change it back to a Blender Sun light, which should give you all the appleseed parameters, including the sun size, and render from within Blender via blenderseed.
