Problem running the Python sample on macOS

I’m trying to run the python sample on macOSX(10.12.5) and there seems to be some problem loading the native libs. I’m trying to run 1.7.0-beta1.

I’ve followed the instructions in the README in the basic python folder, and set up both PYTHONPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH. But when I run, I get the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "", line 37, in <module>
    import appleseed as asr
  File "/Users/vinaysshenoy/Development/appleseed_dist/lib/python2.7/appleseed/", line 34, in <module>
    from _appleseedpython import *
ImportError: dlopen(/Users/vinaysshenoy/Development/appleseed_dist/lib/python2.7/appleseed/, 2): Library not loaded: /Users/Franz/Projects/appleseed/build/src/appleseed/libappleseed.dylib
  Referenced from: /Users/vinaysshenoy/Development/appleseed_dist/lib/python2.7/appleseed/
  Reason: image not found

It seems like the dist has a hardcoded path to the dynamic library.

Hello, thanks for the report, will look into it. Do or appleseed.cli work though?

I can confirm and reproduce the problem, it’s an oversight from our part. We’ll provide a fixed appleseed 1.7.0-beta package of macOS shortly. Stay tuned!

Yes, both of them work!
